It takes a lot of people to make a positive change.
What We Do
The IDD System Redesign Coalition (IDDSRC) has five members from various IDD advocacy, research, and trade organizations in Illinois. The IDDSRC exists to help all those who are part of the IDD community. This is done by reaching out to members of the community, conducting research in critical areas, and promoting legislative and regulatory changes. We are working to ensure that voices are heard and systems are developed that improve services across the lifespan of every person.
Who We Are
Our members bring extensive personal and professional experience to the system redesign initiative. Over many years, they have striven to ensure equitable and meaningful are made available for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their knowledge and passion will be invaluable to improving services for people with IDD.
Our First Year Accomplishments
The first year of our project funded by the Coleman Foundation was very productive. We learned much from individuals and families, and created a foundation for future projects.
Our Projects for 2026 and 2027
In June 2026, the Coleman Foundation renewed our grant through the end of 2027. Thanks to the Coleman Foundation's generosity, the IDDSRC will be able to continue our work.
News & Events
Our mission is simple. We want to foster an Illinois IDD system that meets the needs of every citizen with IDD for their entire lifespan. This includes a system that is easy for people to navigate, that grows with the person, and leads to a better life through continuous improvement.
